As you can see, she had no problem eating the beans at my cousin Carey's BBQ today. I don't even want to know what was in them-cheese-lard and who knows what else, but Katie loved them. She even tried to eat the plate that had the beans on them after she ate them all. She played with Luke and Sadie and Elise-her cousins and had a blast. She was pretty much running after them and following them all over.

Here Katie is with Sadie and Elise. By the look on their faces, you would think that they were in trouble, but with these 3 little angels, how could they do anything to get in trouble??? hee hee....

I finally found out why I was finding Cheerios in Katie's crib. I could not figure out how they were getting there, but now I see how my little chipmunk snuck them into bed....

It is late and I am tired, but best of all-the Dodgers FINALLY won a game. :)

That is little Katie walking (right past mommy) to daddy. As you can see, she gets a big kick out of being able to walk. Lol.....she is too funny. Finally after 2 weeks of trying to get a decent video of her, I got it! The next one is of her talking. I think it may be kind of quiet and hard to hear her and she decided after I got the camera she was not going to say that much. I think I also got her blowing a kiss in the middle too.

I took her to Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time today (she went when she was really little, but was too little to understand what was going on). There was another mom with her 4-5 year old in there and that was it. We had the place to ourselves, which was nice. But, there really wasn't that much for her to do. They used to have things for little kids, but they got rid of them all, so we just walked around and looked at the stuff.

Ummm...Dodgers lost. :( But Mr. Ethier did really well. I guess that has to count for something.

Katie got a few new toys, some from her cousin Cayli and one from Mia and Juliana and a new Princess Chair from Hilda and Gary. She loves them all! She was too funny when she saw them sitting there and could not wait to play with them.

She can now blow kisses, well, it is more like smacking her mouth. I will see if I can get a video of it and upload it, it is pretty funny. Last night when I was feeding her at midnight (she is back to eating 2 times at night-ugh!) she decided that it would be fun to blow mommy kisses. How could I resist, but I was like GO TO SLEEP!!!!.....

Today was a long day for Katie (and mommy and daddy too). We went to Matt's cousin's twin daughter's 2nd birthday party. It was so much fun. Katie got to see all her cousins and friends and she got to play with them all. Most are about a year older, so she was not really able to play too much with them because they were all running around and she is slow. She is walking like a pro now. She prefers to walk, unless she is in a huge hurry or is excited about something she sees-then it is jump to the ground and crawl as fast as possible.

Katie fell and knocked her head pretty hard and had a bump right above her left eye. We also discovered that she gets a bad allergy to sunscreen. This is the 3rd time that I have used sun-screen on her and the first two times, her eyes got a little blotchy and red, but not that bad. This time she was pretty bad and we had to give her Benadryl to help with the swelling and reaction. Poor little thing. She was pretty good about it too, she got a little fussy, but that was about all-oh and she was VERY tired. All in all, it was a good day. Dodger's lost again.....ugh!

I guess she was showing me how she figured out that she can undo her jammies. This little girl is so silly. I can't believe that she is almost 10 months. She is walking really well now. I am not sure at what point she is considered "A walker" since she still likes to do both. Is it when she no longer crawls or is she a walker now? Hmmm... I donno.

Yesterday, I went to lunch with my mom and my mom's Aunt Emma, which we all call her Auntie, but I guess she is technically my great-aunt and Katie's great-great-aunt. She is 87 years old and is so full of life. She told me about how her grandmother-my great-great grandmother was a stow-away on her way to the US from Germany. She also gave my mom a picture of her and my G-G-Grandpa.

I am doing everything I can to not do the dishes and make Matt's lunch for tomorrow, but I really need to do that now....but I will upload something before I do that....ah-procrastination!

"Butt-Ho"

I guess I have to be very careful as to what I say around our little jabber jaws. Today my mom came over after work and I was changing Katie's diaper. Katie has a rash on her butt again and I told my mom "I am trying to get it as close to her butt-hole as possible. Well, next I heard was "Butt-Ho". Miss Katie is a pro at saying words which begin with "b". I did not even think about it until she started repeating it....Hmmm. Note to self: Be careful what you say because it will be repeated.

We are finally back in our house after being fumigated (I will post some pictures of our house looking like something from Nightmare before Christmas when I get them off my mom's camera). It was quite the experience, but all in all-not as bad as I thought it would be.

My parents were the best and took me out to dinner Wednesday to Kabuki and Friday to Rattlers-yummy food.

The Dodgers have an off day today, but yesterday was quite a game for Mr. Andre Ethier. 2 home runs and the 2nd was the game winner! They are tied with Arizona and will hopefully be able to FINALLY pull ahead.

Anyways, it is time for me to go to sleep. Good night!

Another late inning loss....nuff said.

Katie is getting a little better everyday and is well on her way to walking like a big girl.

She makes her mommy and daddy proud.

Today we moved the wall unit and thanks to Matt's friend Wally they were able to get the heavy piece of furniture up 3 stories and into her apartment. We treated Wally to Vincenzo's Pizza which he was so excited to eat. He said it was well worth it. He brought up his motorcycle and let Matt ride it. I will admit, it is a sweet looking and sounding bike. But NO Matt is not getting one. Katie though her daddy looked so strange with the helmet on and had to make sure it really was him.

So frustrated....

Ugh...what a loss. I can't believe that the Dodgers weren't able to defeat the Giants. My goodness. They had the game in the bag and should have won it. Oh well, on a good note, Arizona lost so at least they did not fall further back. I guess .5 of a game is better than 1 game.

Today, we went to the Watermelon Festival in Sunland. It was just like I remembered it, I guess most of the rides are the same-I mean the ones that they had when I was little, not the same kind, but the exact ones that were used 27 years ago. I refused to go on anything and thank God Katie was too small to go on any. My mom, her friend from junior high school (yes, friends for about 40 years!) and my dad's cousin (Aunt to me) Laurie all went after enjoying a yummy lunch at Presidente.

Matt and I are also rearranging the room that we have decided to use as a play room for Katie. So far, so good. Katie seems to like it and gets a kick out of the TV being eye level and something that she can pretty much touch. It was about 5" before we moved it. Tomorrow we are going to take the wall unit to my sisters house. My mom gave it to us when we bought our townhouse about 6 years ago. It is the last thing that her mom and her bought together-just before her mom passed away-over 20 years ago. This this is heavier than heck. It is going to be a chore getting it up the 3 flights of stairs to my sisters apartment.

I'm gonna get some sleep (after I wash all of Katie's bottles) and call it a day. Hopefully tomorrow the Dodgers will win. They BETTER WIN!!!!!!

OH yeah, I almost forgot. Katie is pretty much walking now. She took a good 7-8 steps to me today. Matt and I were sitting on the floor in her 'new' play area and she decided that she was going to walk to me, so she did-right into my arms. It is getting excited and I know that this is going to be an entire new world for us all....lol. I can imagine how she is NOT going to want to sit at all after she realizes that she can walk.

The Dodgers had an early game in St. Louis and won! Woo Hoo....Manny hit another home run. Katie and I watched most of the game and played with her dolls and her Dodger Rally Monkey.

Katie is getting more and more brave and is standing alone a bit longer and is even taking a step or two before she sits or falls.

Here we go....

So many times I have attempted to create a blog and have failed miserably at it. This time will be different. I have a website that I created for Katie, but I feel like I have to add so much to it each time that I get overwhelmed and I just don't do it. So, for some reason, with a blog, I feel like I don't have to write a complete update of everything that happened since the last time (often months) I updated the site.

If you are reading this, chances are, you know me or my husband Matt or Katie. As you more than likely know, I am a huge baseball fan-Go DODGERS! I am also a stay-at-home-mom and love it. Although times are hard with a single paycheck, we manage and I think do a pretty good job at it.

So, my "Little Pork Chop" Katie is getting so big. She is 9 months and today for the first time, she stood up and took 3 steps. It was quite amazing and I was so glad that my mom was there to see it too, otherwise, I don't think anyone would believe me. We were in her music class and she was pre-occupied with the music and what was going on that she did not even realize that she was doing it. So, I think I am going to have an early walker....but you never know, she could decide not to do it again until she is a year old. Only time will tell.
